Pipe Tobacco

Our pipe tobacco range covers Samuel Gawith, Peterson, Charatan, Chieftain, Robert Lewis, Robert McConnell and Rattray's, mostly in 50g tins, plus loose Kendal blends. Samuel Gawith's story begins with snuff making in Kendal in 1792, and the firm still makes its tobaccos in the town, including Best Brown Flake, Full Virginia Flake and 1792 Flake. From Charatan come blends such as the 1992 Mixture, named after the year Tor Imports was founded, and Black Flake, a full Virginia and Perique flake. Peterson's Irish Flake combines Burley, Virginia and dark-fired Kentucky.

To choose, start with cut and style. Flakes and plugs are pressed and are rubbed out or folded before filling, while ribbon cuts are ready to load. Virginias smoke naturally sweet, English mixtures add smoky Latakia, and aromatics such as Black Cherry carry a flavour topping.
