Allegiance was made by Casa Carrillo in partnership with the Oliva family in Nicaragua. An eighth-priming Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper from the Quevedo region covers Nicaraguan binder and filler. The Confidant was placed No.5 in Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 of 2023 and was also named Cigar Journal's top new cigar of that year.

The maker describes a smooth, slightly sweet wrapper set against earthy Nicaraguan tobacco, with restrained spice and good balance at a medium-to-full strength.
