JOYA Red is Joya de Nicaragua's cigar for the modern smoker, designed as an easy, vibrant smoke for any occasion. It is a Nicaraguan puro: a light Habano Criollo (Claro) wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder, with fillers that Tor Imports lists as coming from Jalapa, Condega and Estelí.
The maker describes a balanced, medium-strength blend with smooth nutty flavours and touches of pepper. According to Tor Imports it won Best Value Nicaragua at the Cigar Journal Trophy Awards 2016, and the Robusto holds ratings of 90 from both Cigar Journal and Cigar Aficionado. It is handmade in Estelí.
