J.C. Newman named Brick House after his childhood home, the only brick house in his Hungarian village. The original was a Cuban puro that ended with the Great Depression; more than 80 years later his grandsons Eric and Bobby Newman relaunched it with Nicaraguan tobacco, made at the PENSA factory.

The Havana Subido is the original Brick House blend: a Havana Subido wrapper grown in Ecuador over Nicaraguan tobacco, hand rolled and aged in the mountains of Nicaragua.
