CLE Cigar Company is run by Christian Eiroa, whose family's tobacco growing began in Cuba in 1916, and who championed authentic Corojo leaf when he ran Camacho. The core CLE lines are made at his factory in Honduras from Honduran tobacco. Asylum 13, the original line from his Asylum brand, is a Nicaraguan puro known for big ring gauges, up to the 7 x 70 Hercule. Eiroa The First 20 Years, marking his first two decades in the business, is a box-pressed Honduran puro made in Danlí from tobacco grown by his father, Julio, in the Jamastrán valley.
Choose by wrapper and strength: CLE Connecticut is medium, with nuts and cream; the Corojo is bold and full-bodied; Asylum 13, The Ogre (with a barber-pole Candela wrapper) and Schizo Maduro are medium to full; and Eiroa comes in Colorado or Maduro.
