Caldwell

Caldwell Cigar Company was founded by Robert Caldwell in 2014, with a focus on long-aged, harder-to-find tobaccos. Its cigars are made in the Dominican Republic. Long Live the King was one of the blends in the company's 2014 debut, finished in the Dominican Republic with William Ventura and built on an unhybridised Dominican Corojo wrapper. The King Is Dead uses Negrito, a rare dark Dominican wrapper variety, while Eastern Standard is Caldwell's richer take on a Connecticut-style cigar.

Choose by strength. In Tor Imports' tasting notes, the creamy Eastern Standard is mild to medium, The King Is Dead and Anastasia are medium to full, and Long Live the King is full, with pepper and spice settling into dark chocolate, earth and coffee.
