Caldwell Cigar Company was founded by Robert Caldwell in 2014 with a focus on long-aged, harder-to-find tobaccos. Eastern Standard is its take on a Connecticut-style cigar, made in the Dominican Republic: a hybrid wrapper of Connecticut Shade and Brazilian tobacco over a Dominican binder, with aged Dominican Criollo '98 and Corojo ligero and Nicaraguan Habano in the filler.
Caldwell promises something richer than a typical Connecticut, and both maker and importer describe a creamy, smooth smoke with light pepper and spice.
