Padrón - 1964 Anniversary Series Torpedo Maduro - Box of 20

Padrón launched the 1964 Anniversary Series in 1994 to celebrate the company's 30th anniversary. The range is box-pressed in the old Cuban tradition, and every size comes with a sun-grown natural or maduro wrapper. The tobacco is all Nicaraguan and is aged for four years before blending, which Padrón says gives a smooth, complex flavour.

Tor Imports rates the line medium to full. Its notes describe chocolate and coffee bean over earthy, nutty flavours, with touches of wood, nutmeg and walnut. Reviewing the Presidente Maduro, halfwheel's reviewer noted a strong chocolate character with earth and pepper. The Torpedo was Cigar Aficionado's Cigar of the Year in 2021.
