JOYA Black builds on JOYA Red, Joya de Nicaragua's modern everyday line, by swapping in a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The maker aimed it at the modern smoker who wants a little more from the blend.

Joya de Nicaragua and Tor Imports describe a medium-bodied cigar that is fuller in flavour than JOYA Red, offering a balanced but complex smoke that stays rich and pleasant throughout. Tor's notes list strong ratings for the line, including 93 points from Cigar Aficionado and a place at No. 22 in its Top 25 of 2017 for the Nocturno. It is handmade in Estelí.
