Cohiba's Línea 1492 was unveiled in Havana in November 1992 to mark five hundred years since Columbus reached the Americas. “Siglo” means century, and each number in the original line honours one of those five centuries. As with every Cohiba, the tobacco is selected from the Vuelta Abajo, and the seco and ligero leaves are given the marque's additional fermentation in barrels, which is behind the smooth, rounded character Cohiba is known for. Habanos class the Línea 1492 as medium in flavour, the lightest of the Cohiba lines, which makes the Siglos an elegant introduction to the marque and a dependable everyday choice for experienced smokers.

Keep in a humidor at 65–70% relative humidity and around 16–18°C. Cut just above the cap line and toast the foot gently before lighting; smoke slowly and let it rest between draws.
