Cohiba - Robusto - Single
A single cigar, the ideal way to try this size before committing to a box.
Added in 1989 and regarded as a benchmark robusto: rich, balanced and full of Cohiba character.
Cohiba was created in 1966 at the El Laguito factory in Havana, and for years was reserved as a gift for heads of state and diplomats before going on limited public sale in 1982. The name is a Taíno word for rolled tobacco. Leaf is selected from the finest vegas of San Juan y Martínez and San Luis in the Vuelta Abajo, and the filler receives an extra fermentation that gives Cohiba its smooth, refined character.
Connoisseurs' notes
Published reviewers commonly describe the Robustos as having oak, vanilla and almond with cedar, leather, pepper, honey and cocoa.
Summarised from published tasting notes (Cigar Aficionado and specialist tobacconists).
