J.C. Newman named Brick House after his childhood home, the only brick house in his Hungarian village. The original was a Cuban puro that ended with the Great Depression; more than 80 years later his grandsons Eric and Bobby Newman relaunched it with Nicaraguan tobacco, made at the PENSA factory.

The Maduro uses the Brick House filler blend under a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper. Tabac World describes it as darker and spicier than the other Brick House blends, full bodied with rich hints of sweetness.
